Questions You Should Ask Your Wedding Venue?

When deciding on a wedding venue, it is not only about the aesthetics and your dream place but there is whole a lot of detailing that you have to look into before you decide on a wedding venue. Here are a few key questions that you need to ask before you book a wedding venue to have a day that is perfect and without any regrets later on. 

THE BASIC QUESTIONS (Pricing, availability, and guest accommodation)

  • What dates is the venue available in the month I am considering getting hitched?

  • What are the rates for the different days of the week, times, and seasons?

  • What is the rental fee and what offers are being provided in the rental fees? Is there any discount available on certain weeks, times, or seasons?

  • How many hours does the rental fee include and how much will be charged for the overtime?

  • What is the payment plan and what forms of payments are accepted?

  • How many guests can the venue accommodate?

  • Is there an area designated for smokers?

  • Is the venue accessible to disabled guests?

  • Are there any rooms including such as bridal party rooms, lounge area, coatroom, cocktail area, and bathrooms?

  • What is the cancellation policy of this wedding venue? Does your venue offer liability insurance?

  • Any backup plan for rain or unpredictable weather?

  • Is there an on-site parking site? Is it complementary or charged?

  • Is the venue accessible for cabs and ride shares?

DÉCOR, SET UP, AND VENDORS

  • Are there any decorating restrictions? Or are we allowed to bring our decorations to decorate as per theme?

  • Do we have permission to move things around?

  • Do you have décor inventory such as lighting, vases, card holders, and candle holders that we can borrow from if needed?

  • Do you have a list of vendors? If so, should I stick to the list of preferred vendors that you provided or can I hire my own too?

FOOD, CAKE, AND DRINKS 

  • Do you offer an in-house caterer? Are food and beverages included in the venue package?

  • What are the ways the food is served? Buffet, family style, or individual plates?

  • How many waiter staff will be provided?

  • Can we do a food tasting?

  • Can I bring the cake from outside or do I have to use the cake made at the venue?

  • What drinks are you providing with the food? And how is the alcohol priced? Can we bring our booze?

  • Is your venue licensed to provide the alcohol service?
